Funeral services will be held Saturday for Andrew P. Topp,90, long time resident of the Kimballton community. He died Tuesday, June 17, at Salem Invalid Home in Elk Horn following a three-weeks illness. He was born Feb. 22, 1868 in Schlesvig, Germany, (now Denmark) the son of Peter and Marie Petersen Topp, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in his native land. At the age of 18 years he came to this country together with his brother Jacob, and his sister, Marie. He worked as a farm hand in Scott co. Ia., for two years, then spent four years in Minnesota as foreman of a cattle ranch. Next he came to Audub on county where he bought a farm, three miles northeast of Kimballton. March 29, 1900, he married Helene Christensen. In 1942, they retired from the farm and moved to Kimballton. Two years ago they moved to Salem Invalid Home, where Mrs. Topp die d June 29, 1957. Mr. Topp had been a member of Bethany Lutheran church since coming to this community. He was secretary for the congregation for several years. A prominent farmer he was active in civic affairs and held offices in Sharon township. Surviving are four daughters; Mrs. Thorwald (Sena) Clausen of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Robert (Marie) Waddell of Ames, Mrs. Glen (Mildred) Lykke of Kimballton, and Mrs. Roland (Caroline) Lauridsen of Audubon; seven grandchildren and one great grandchi ld. A daughter, Leona, and three sons, Peter, Chris and Edward, preceded him in death. Services will be held Saturday at 1:30 o'clock at Jensen Funeral home in Kimballton and 2 o'clock at Bethany Lutheran church with interment in the Bethany cemetery. Rev. Holger Strandskov will officiate.
