| Note | daughter of Samuel A. and Clara H. (Vierth) Dunn. She was raised in Missouri Valley, Iowa, where she graduated from Missouri Valley High School in 1937. Later, she attended normal training and taught at the Mann and Schol country schools near Moor head. She and Edgar Thogersen were united in marriage on June 14, 1941, in Onawa. They made their home in Onawa and she worked for 10 years at Iowa Master's Breeders, various offices at the Monona County Courthouse and 14 years at Monona County Engineer s. Edgar died Oct. 19, 1969. Due to ill health, she moved to Prairie Estates and later to Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa in 2004. She was a member of First Christian Church and a 60-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter 222. She was active in her church and was always a very busy lady whether it be maintaining her yard, raising a garden with priz e tomatoes, caring for animals or visiting with her many acquaintances. she loved raising roses and sharing them with her friends, shut-ins and Elmwood residents and was known in Onawa to all those friends as "The Rose Lady." She enjoyed travelin g and after Edgar's death, she and Ida Fox traveled extensively. |
