He was born April 25, 1929, in Provo, Utah, to Alma Theodore Madsen, Jr. and Theo Jolley. He married Verna June Rasmussen on May 4, 1948. They were sealed in th e Mount Timpanogos Temple on March 24, 2001. Gale spent his youth in the Provo and Orem area, and enjoyed many happy summers in Tropic, Utah, with his grandparents and cousins. Gale was an Operating Engineer and was recognized as an expert heavy equipment operator. He spent his career workin g on large construction projects throughout the Western United States and as far away as Jamaica. He specialized as a crane operator on power plant construction and received a 50-year award as a member of the Operating Engineers Union, Local 3. He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His favorite calling was being a home teacher. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, amusing sayings, sense of humor, and love for his family. He is survived by his wife Verna, their two daughters, Sherrie (Ron) Haycock, Napa, California and Robin (Dave) Feitz, Provo, Utah, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Gene (Kathryn) Madsen, Orem and siste r Linda (Steve) Black, Bountiful, both of Utah. The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and respiratory staff of the Timpanogos Hospital intensive care unit for their attentive care and support throughout Gale's extended illness. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 2, 2006, at 11 a.m. at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem. Family and friends may visit from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the funeral home. Gale will be burie d next to his infant son at the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem.
